Jan Smit, a CSES partners, carried out a two day training workshop on inward investment promotion in Kotka, Finland. The workshop was attended by participants from the private and the upblic sector including Invest in Finland Agency , the St. Petersburg Investment promotion agency (GAPI)  and the St. Petersburg's Foundation for SME development .

The course covered a number of topics related to inward investment including:

- understanding of the nature and the different modes of Foreign Direct Investment;

- analysis of the process and criteria used in company location decision-making;

- the role of Investment Promotion Agencies and their activities inlcuding company segmentation and targeting, aftercare and key accounts management.

 

 
The training was organised as part of the cross border European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) and the Russia-South East Finland co-operation project (BLESK) funded by the European Union, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Finland.
